Keep the drive head attached to the machine, hanging vertically. This ensures a clean drain of used oil.
Using an Allen wrench (8mm typical), remove the drain plug located on the side of the drive head.
Allow the oil to fully drain into the pan. Once drained, reinstall the drain plug and tighten it hand tight.
Place the drive head on the ground with the drain plug pointing straight up at the 12 o’clock position.
Remove the drain plug again and refill the drive head with SAE 80W90 GL-5 oil. Note: Oil capacity is listed on the metal plate on the hood of your machine.
Some oil will remain in the drive head even after draining, so the refill volume may be slightly less than the listed capacity.
Once filled, rotate the drive head from the 12 o’clock position to about the 11 o’clock position. Excess oil will drain from the hole.
When no more oil drains out at the 11 o’clock position, replace the drain plug and securely tighten it with the Allen wrench.
Always dispose of used oil according to local regulations.
Record the oil change date and type of oil used in your maintenance log.
Replace oil at recommended service intervals or sooner in heavy-use or harsh conditions.
